A morning view of my Ecolodge \u2013 very exclusive!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day started with a boat excursion on the wetlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 where we saw yacar\u00e9s, both black \u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 and broad-snouted\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And little ones too \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was great navigating the Iber\u00e1 wetlands ..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And my bird of the day, the Wattled Jacana, was taken there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the boat trip the guide, Antonio, spotted what looked at first a rather nasty piece of work …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

… but turned out to be a a false water cobra. Just as well that it was false \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch back at the ecolodge and an afternoon trek on a couple of trails<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Where I had the good luck to see an armadillo\u00a0\u00a0(nine-banded long-nosed) …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

… lots of butterflies …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And lots of capybara everywhere., mostly unconcerned by trail walkers. This one was in for a delousing service …<\/p>\n\n\n\n
